Incoming PhD Students
CZU welcomes international doctoral students interested in research internships or Erasmus+ traineeships within university departments and administrative units.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to independently identify and contact a potential supervisor, research group, or faculty member in their academic field to arrange the duration and research activities.
Students who already have an established contact or supervisor may coordinate their arrival and administrative paperwork directly with the chosen supervisor or host department. Students without a contact or supervisor should complete the online application form so CZU can reach out to relevant departments on their behalf. Please expect a response within approximately 45 days.
Internships are generally undertaken within the Erasmus+ framework or as a university-required placement. Applicants are fully responsible for meeting their home university's deadlines and administrative requirements.

Current CZU doctoral students planning a short-term research stay or traineeship abroad can use the CZU outgoing mobility guidelines. Short-term PhD mobilities are intended for PhD students without an employment contract.
PhD students with an employment contract must use staff mobility opportunities. Complete information is available on the CZU Intranet.
The receiving organisation can be a university, company, research institute, or non-profit organisation. To find a suitable host, students can use their supervisor's academic network or check the interactive maps of former traineeship destinations.
Incoming PhD Students
Incoming PhD exchange students must find their own supervisor and arrange the mobility directly with the supervisor.
If assistance is needed, students are welcome to contact Diana Rimm, specialist of doctoral studies at EMU.
Outgoing PhD Students
PhD students should first arrange their stay at the host university or organisation on their own. If they wish to apply for funding from EMU, they can contact either the Doctoral School or the International Office.
Incoming PhD Students
Interested incoming doctoral students should contact a relevant department or research group within their academic field. They may also search for ongoing research projects in the SLU research catalogue.
SLU also offers a number of courses at doctoral level.

Incoming PhD Students
Prospective incoming PhD exchange candidates to NMBU must independently identify and contact a potential supervisor, research group, or faculty within their academic field before their stay.
All arrangements for the research stay, including the definition of research activities and the duration of the visit, must be made directly with the chosen supervisor, research group, or faculty at NMBU.
The mobility period and research plan should be agreed upon and formalised before arrival. NMBU does not centrally assign supervisors or research groups to incoming PhD exchange candidates. Early contact with relevant academic staff is therefore essential.
Contact information for the relevant faculty can be found on NMBU's PhD Education pages.

NMBU offers an international travel grant scheme to support research stays abroad for PhD candidates, postdoctoral fellows, and residents. Eligible applicants must hold positions funded by the Ministry of Education and Research or by internal faculty resources.
The programme supports international collaboration through research stays at globally recognised universities or research institutions. The annual budget allocation is approximately NOK 2 million.
There are two calls per year. Grants support stays of 2 to 6 months, with a maximum of two stays at different institutions. Applicants must have faculty and supervisor approval and document the planned collaboration. The grant covers travel and living expenses, but alternative funding sources must also be pursued when available.
Applicants must not have resided or worked in the host country for more than 12 months in the past three years.
Only PhD candidates and postdoctoral fellows in KD-funded or faculty-funded positions may apply. Those in externally funded positions, for example through the Research Council of Norway or EU grants, are not eligible for this scheme and should explore funding through their own grant providers.
NMBU staff, including PhD candidates with an employment contract, may also apply for Erasmus+ grants for short-term training or teaching stays at universities, companies, or organisations within the EU. These activities must be relevant to the applicant's work and contribute to NMBU's internationalisation strategy.
Supported activities include staff training weeks, job shadowing, workshops, laboratory training, methodology courses, and language courses. Teaching mobility is available for academic staff at Erasmus+ partner universities. Conference participation is not eligible for funding.
