Within the Euroleague for Life Sciences the faculties and departments of seven universities focussing on the subject area of landscape planning are assembled within the subject area "Landscape Architecture and Spatial Planning. The mission of the network is to develop the international dimension of landscape planning education and research and bring it into practice. Landscape planning, includihttps://www.uni-hohenheim.de/typo3/clear.gifng landscape architecture and spatial planning, mediates between worlds of knowledge in the natural and social sciences, the arts and the humanities. This makes it a complex subject area in which we have to deal with difficult and unpredictable issues, like climate change and economic, political and social changes in society. This results in a diversity of planning approaches in different social, political, environmental, economic and cultural contexts in the countries of Europe. ESPI focuses on making this diversity visible through the exchange of ideas and perceptions and by providing opportunities for students to learn about different planning approaches and planning cultures. This network gives you the possibility to broaden your vision through the organisation of international conferences, summer schools and studying at the joint universities. Main aim is to:
- provide access to courses of a high academic level at the joint universities for BSc, MSc and PhD students of Landscape Architecture and Spatial Planning.
- Promote and exchange knowledge and skills internationally through conferences and summer schools, to improve the quality of education and research.
- Establish an exchange programme within the Erasmus Mundus framework
