ELLS Prize for Excellent Master Theses

Purpose:
The ELLS Prize recognizes excellent Master theses in life sciences written in English. Eligible students are those from ELLS universities who have participated in ELLS study exchange programs.
Eligibility Criteria:
- University of Hohenheim students: Must have earned 18 ECTS of their MSc program at other ELLS universities.
- Students from other ELLS universities: Must have earned 18 ECTS of their MSc program at the University of Hohenheim.
- Students in the ELLS Double Degree Programs (EnvEuro and EUR-Organic): Must choose the University of Hohenheim as their home or host university.
Nomination Process:
- Representatives from approved ELLS subject areas can nominate candidates.
- Submission Deadline: 31 August each year for theses completed in the previous year.
- Required Documents:
- Complete MSc thesis (preferably in electronic form)
- Nomination letter from an ELLS Subject Area representative
- Short CV
- Official transcript of records
- Two recommendation letters (one from the supervisor and one from an external reviewer from another ELLS university)
Submission Details:
- All documents must be in English.
- Submit the complete application to:

Evaluation and Award:
- The ELLS Task Force reviews nominations and recommends recipients.
- The final decision and prize amounts are determined by the rector of the University of Hohenheim.
- The total annual prize amount is 5,000 €, which can be shared among up to 5 winners.
- The award ceremony takes place at the annual ELLS Scientific Student Conference.
Recommendation:
Supervisors and external examiners are encouraged to use the "Thesis Evaluation Form" provided by the quality assurance team for evaluating the MSc thesis.
