Conservation and management of biodiversity in landscapes with agriculture and forestry
EFEES 2006 (SLU) is held in the area around Grimsö near Uppsala
Description
The 3rd EFEES is held 31 July - 19 August 2006 hosted by Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). One week of home studies is followed by two weeks field excursion in Sweden.
The Summer University (6 ECTS)is for ca. 35 students in the end of their BSc course or at the beginning of their MSc course.

Objectives
- to investigate environmental problems related to land use with focus on biodiversity
- to demonstrate restoration of water and land areas
- to get insight into management of game and populations of big predator, and conflicts with other interests
- to learn new tools for collecting, analysing, modelling and interpretation of environmental data
- to combine different sources of knowledge for solving environmental problems
- to solve problems in a group of international students
Course schedule
- Pre-course video conference end of May 2006 for first contact and introduction
- One week home study 31 July - 6 August
- Field excursion in Sweden 7-19 August.

Registration fee
- EFEES 2006 is a course funded by Erasmus. The accommodation and food is paid for and only a registration fee of 50 euro is required. The students pay transportation to Grimsö themselves
