International Production Chains in Horticulture (IP-Chains-iT) 2005
Course content
CHAINs-iT is a 6 ECTS course about international horticultural production chains. Within the course students learn to understand, analyze and search for solutions of complicated multidisciplinary problems within international horticultural production chains. The course is simultaneously organized by 9 European Universities for students specializing in Horticulture and includes an Intensive Program of 2 weeks held in Denmark. Participating students should be in the last phase of their MSc (or study-program equivalent).
Key issue of the course is to learn how to integrate the knowledge you should already have from different disciplines (economics/plant physiology/horticulture/post-harvest physiology) into Horticultural Production Chains related problems and concepts. You'll also learn some basics about Horticultural production Chains during lectures. Because of the international participants and their presentations you'll also get information about horticulture and its perspectives in many other countries in Europe and the rest of the World.
