"Soil - Microbe - Plant Interactions 2004:

The summer course took place from June 29 - July 9 in Vienna

Course format

Mix of introductory lectures, parallel seminars with students presentations, practical lab and modeling courses and field excursions with emphasis on project-oriented learning / guided self education; pre-course work of about one week. Take a look at the study program (pdf,ca. 24KB)

Costs

Students travel (individual) expenses, dinners, local transport and students fees (200 EUR / student) have to be covered by the student or their host university.

Each participating university is expected to send one (1) teacher and to cover her/his travel expenses. Local costs for students and teachers (hotel, breaks, lunch) and for organisation (administration, bus for excursion, computers, lab and field consumables etc.) will be covered from the EU funds and by BOKU.

ECTS points

12 (based on 60 working hours on site + 30 working hours pre-course activity)

Grades

Will be based on a combination of group work (scientific paper and presentation, lab and field experiments - 50%) and a written exam (50%)
