ELLS Scientific Student Conference 2010
Final Programme
Euroleague for Life Sciences (ELLS) held its second Scientific Student Conference at the Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Copenhagen on 12-13 November 2010.

The aim of the conference was to:
- provide a forum for undergraduate and graduate students to present research papers and posters and to receive critical feedback from peers and experts in their field
- enhance networking among students and teachers of the ELLS partner universities
- promote an interdisciplinary dialogue
- enhance mobility between the partner universities
In addition to the scientific sessions there was a campus orienteering race for all participants as well as a market place with information on study programmes and topics for master theses at all ELLS universities. You can find the suggested MSc topics here:

Participants
The ELLS Scientific Student Conference was open for BSc students, MSc students, diploma students and PhD students. 24 MSc students from the Euroleague partner universities were selected to present their thesis or another big project during one of the eight sessions, and 40 BSc and MSc students were selected to briefly present a poster. The book of student abstracts can be found here. In total, there were approximately 145 students at the conference.
ELLS Prize for Excellent Master thesis
At the student conference, the ELLS Prize was awarded by Hohenheim to the
following five students:
- Doris Jehle, UHOH (exchange at LIFE)
- Susanne Ufer, UHOH (exchange at WUR)
- Karin Steffens, UHOH (exchange at SLU)
- Jasmin Lucas, UHOH (exchange at WUR)
- Joscha Griger, UHOH (exchange at LIFE)
ELLS Distinguished Fellowship
The ELLS distinguished fellowship was given as financial support towards an exchange period at another ELLS or ELLSNA partner to the following two students:- Juliana Gil, UHOH (oral presenter)
- Gabi Schmid, UHOH (poster presenter)
Both students presented their projects in a very clear and structured way.
