ELLS Distinguished Fellowship
The overall idea of the ELLS Distinguished Fellowship is to recognise outstanding students and to support their further development through the fellowship while enhancing networking within the ELLS and ELSNA universities. In the frame of Scientific Student Conferences, teachers are asked to select outstanding students, based on their performance in the conference, relative to the level of their study (bachelor, master or PhD). This selection may be based on the content of their work as well as on soft skills such as way of presentation.
These students receive ELLS Distinguished Fellowships covering or contributing towards the costs of a study period abroad either at an ELLS or ELSNA university. These expenditures will be covered by the ELLS Fund for Incentives.
In 2009 one Distinguished Fellowship with a total amount of € 2.500 was awarded during the ELLS Scientific Student Conference 2009 in Hohenheim.
At the SSC 2010 in Copenhagen two Fellowships were allocated:
- one for the best oral presentation (€ 2.500,-)
- one for the best poster presentation (€ 500,-).
At the SSC 2011 in Wageningen six Fellowships will be allocated:
- three for best oral presentation - one presenter from each of the three parallel theme sessions at the SSC will receive a Fellowship (€ 800,- each)
- three for best poster presentation - one presenter from each of the three parallel theme sessions at the SSC will receive a Fellowship (€ 200,- each)
